Thumbs up Cadillac 390 motor and trans FOR SALE

The trans is in very nice shape no problem at all it was serviced 2 years ago (pan gasket might need to be changed)

Selling the 390 engine complete with electric ignition, alternator, holly carb, manifolds, starter (Turn Key) and trans

Doing a motor swap planning to pull the motor in couple weeks I live in Los Angeles CA if you are interested and local please give me a call and stop by to hear the engine run.

Also might be selling my differential around the same time

Or email me

It is great it is another Caddy engine you are putting in as it will keep it in the breed.

I will try been told it's kinda hard ... But want to line someone up for my rblt 390 because it will be hard to sell an engine that doesn't run once I have it pulled out.

61,

Before you trade out your 390 please consider two things. A 390 can be hept up to put out the same or better hp to weight ratio as the 500 and a 390 is a lighter motor. .... second this swap is like cutting the fins off the car ..... its a Cadillac 390 ... not a chevy 350. ... Its a big part of the 60's Cadillac Persona ..... Its a beautiful Skegged Cadillac

The only reason I am throwing this out is because Ive had alot of experience with a 70 Eldorado 8.2 400hp motor.. the grandaddy of the 500's .....Great Car Great Motor ..... but the application is at best mediocre for perfomance in a 61 compared to what you can do with a 390 for a lot less money and effort .... unless your stripping the car for dragging ...hyping the motor and add a 400 hydromatic with a slap shifter and two stage nitrous and going all the way... it really is not going to change your experience.

Dont mean to jump your gig ... you rebuilt the 390 ....and thats a bonus.... just want to make you think twice before taking the plung. Your digging into something you may look back on and say ... Oh Why Oh Why did I do that?

Why don't you change your rear diff ratio, sport your heads raise your manifold spin your tires and call it a day instead?

Good luck whatever you decide I am sure you did a nice rebuild and the motor will be snatched up fast.

RF

Have you found a new owner for your powertrain yet. I am halfway through mine and looking to sell my parts and just drop in a rebuilt one.
